ULURU IN LOW CLOUD...AFTER MASSIVE THUNDERSTORM DOWNPOUR..

ULURU...A typically hot summer's day (38.C)..a severe thunderstorm sweeping by,crackling with lightning along with heavy, rain passes over the nearby Tourist Complex that adjoins the Rock some 20 km away..instead of going back to the camping ground,i turn the car around and follow the storm..thinking ,mmm...maybe some good lightning shots..who knows..a photographer can smell, can sense a good shot.So as i get to the skirts of the Rock,a torrential downpour for 20 minutes ..and as i sit in the car..as my camera gear is sensitive to rain..i witness a swirling low cloud veil descending and wrapping the Rock in a humungus white cloudsheet..so i says to me-self.." bugger the rain.." and after much frantic positional running to and fro, here and there, with much excitement ..a series of shots are taken..of a very rare and wonderful event...a most awe inspiring natural event to witness ...after the rain cleared ..as i stood, soaked to the bone, witnessing the fog slowly dissipate in the returning heat of the day,the eery noise of endless cascading waterfalls begins as the collected rainwater starts its descent from the enshrouded mountain top..,and for the seccond time in over an hour i was privledged to bear witnesss to a unique event at Uluru and recognize, and indeed feel its immense power ....
